Your 4-Day Nkambeni Tented Camp Safari departs daily from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport. You need to be at the OR Tambo bus terminal by 6:45 AM, with departure promptly at 7:00 AM. Once you have booked your Safari, we’ll send through the full instructions for a smooth start.
You'll be travelling East, enjoying scenic views of rolling farmlands and beautiful landscapes en route to the Nkambeni Safari Camp inside a private concession within theKruger National Park. We’ll be making one or two comfortable spots along the way, perfect time to stretch your legs and buy snacks/ refreshments before journeying forward. Your estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Hazyview is around 1 PM whereafter you’ll be transferred to the Safari Camp inside the park.
Once you arrive, check in to the tented camps and take some time to freshen up and relax. At approximately 3 PM, hop on to an open-sided land cruiser for a thrilling 2 to 2.5 hour guided game drive through Kruger National Park. Nkambeni is situated inside Kruger Park placing you close to the action.
After your exciting safari game drive, head back to the tented camp to unwind. Nkambeni offers a lounge area with a licensed bar where you can enjoy a sundowner and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
Enjoy a buffet dinner in the restaurant or a traditional bush barbecue (braai) around an outdoor log fire in Nkambeni’s Boma followed by an overnight stay in your Tented Suite.
Start your morning right with a warm cup of coffee or tea accompanied with a buffet breakfast before setting out at 06:00 AM on a full-day game drive in the Skukuza area of the Kruger National Park. The game drives take place in specially modified, 9-seater, open-sided land cruisers designed for optimal wildlife viewing and photography.
The Skukuza area is abundant in wildlife, and the elevated position of the 4x4 open-sided vehicle provides excellent vantage points. After our sunrise game drive, a stop is made where you may stretch legs and purchase additional food items at the shop in Kruger Park.
Soon after, the game drive continues until lunchtime. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the park’s restaurants, at your own expense. After a 45-minute lunch break, we embark on an afternoon safari, further exploring the Kruger's diverse wildlife.
Throughout the day, you’ll have ample opportunities to see and photograph a wide variety of wildlife. At the end of the day’s adventure, you’ll return to the chalets where you can unwind before enjoying a delicious dinner at the Nkambeni. The restaurant and bar overlook a water hole with resident hippos to entertain you while you relax and absorb the sight and sounds of the African wilderness.

Today you depart on your adventure on the Panorama Route, revealing one breathtaking view after another. After a delicious breakfast to fuel your day, get ready for an eight-hour journey through some of South Africa's most incredible landscapes.
Various scenic stops will be made along the Panorama Route, first you'll step into a view that stretches on forever at God's Window. You'll then get to explore other epic sights like The Pinnacle and the unique, water-carved rock formations at Bourke's Luck Potholes. Prepare to be completely captivated by the majestic Blyde River Canyon, with its towering cliffs and the stunning Three Rondavels. You’ll also take in another incredible sight at Wonderview and witness a powerful waterfall, with water plunging from great heights.
Lunch will be available for you to buy along the route at your own expense.

On the final morning of your 4-Day Nkambeni Tented Camp Safari, you’ll have the options of joining another early morning sunrise game drive, embarking on a guided morning bush walk or enjoying a leisurely morning relaxing at Nkambeni. Please note, this sunrise game drive and bush walk are optional and at your own expense. The guided bush walk is an incredible opportunity to get up close to many of the small creatures, plants and birds often overlooked on game drives. The bush walk may also bring you up close to some bigger animals, all while being protected by a skilled guide.
Alternatively, Nkambeni offers a large swimming pool and leisure area overlooking a water hole frequented by hippo and other wildlife, ideal for a relaxing morning if neither of the optional activities appeal to you.
Just before 12 AM, Nkambeni will arrange your transfer to the shuttle pickup point in Hazyview. From there, you will travel back to Johannesburg with comfort stops along the way. The estimated arrival time at OR Tambo Airport is between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.
